Jeans for Genes Day

(l to r): Judy Edwards, Jenny Purcell, Jim Micsko, Susan Hudson and Ivan Skaines at the J4G's BBQ

UWS Werrington North staff raised $712.65 through a Jeans for Genes Day BBQ.

On Friday 4 August, a BBQ was held in Building AD to support Jeans for Genes Day. For $5, staff could get a Jeans for Genes Meal Deal which included a can of soft drink and all-you-can-eat BBQ.

As well as the BBQ, there was a variety of J4G merchandise available for sale, which alone raised $280. Proving that UWS staff are a generous bunch, there was a further $129 worth of donations made on top of the BBQ and merchandise fundraising, thus pushing the total over $700.

A big 'Thank You' must go to the Building AD organising team, who got the whole building involved, and special mention made of the tireless chefs of the day: Jenny Purcell, Judy Edwards and Jim Micsko.
